Clark Update General Conference Chickens and the Like

Rachel went to get some supplies for our animals and the store had some chickens, she texted me while I was at work and said I think we are getting 6 more chickens.
We did, see it on instagram

One was on life support as Peggy may have squeezed it a little too tight.  We huddled around it and I watched the baby for a good 10 minutes during General Conference.  I said what should we do to help?  Peggy sang it some songs.
Then Alice decided that she would pray.
2 seconds after the prayer concluded, the bird started walking...slowly
the next day the bird is up and about.
Before the squeeze was put on....Rachel wanted to ensure each bird was a different variety.
The enclosure is more child proof now.

Friday the kids had a half day, but Peggy had a library class, so they hit the books and did not want to be disturbed.

Recap by Alice (5)
What happened this week?
"I held a chicken, I went to the bridge, I rollerskate and cross the birdge.  I went to the playground."

At 10:30 am with gusty winds, the playground was very empty.

Recap by Edith (10)
"It's me Edith, I want to tell you about my week.  First of all my art teacher loves my art.  And decided to post all of my sketches around the school :)!
I LOVE gymnastics and I am in level 5.  My favorite event is....floor, bars, vault and sometimes beam."
My friends in gymnastics are called "Unicorns"

"We also got new Chicks.  Mine is named hourglass, Robert's named Buckeye.  Zoe's is named Ache-em, Alice's is called Checkers, and Peggy's is Feather."
Feather broke her back, or leg :(
I hope she gets better"
Bye See you soon."

My commentary, she is good on the beam, her best event so far.  Her group of friends in the same level are the unicorns, as the other girls are getting older, she and her friends are more excited about puppy's, kittens and the like.  The entire gym calls this group the unicorns.  Oh my the teenage years never hit us.  One of her friends got her  and the group each a sweatshirt that they all wear, all the time which says, "Unicorns are Awesome, I am awesome, therefore I am a unicorn."

Saturday while Robert was at play practice, I took the three girls and let them roller-skate on the Long Flat Pedestrian Bridge in Poughkeepsie.  It was windy and I thought it was closed due to winds and recent rains.  It wasn't, we took the elevator up and then with the wind, we spent about 5 minutes and came back down.

We continued our tradition of watching General Conference and bribing our children with insane amounts of candy if they listened.  We went to the Church Sunday Morning to watch the session at the church building and someone told me how obedient our children were.  I confessed our candy bribing, and they said "You do what you have to do."
